As the academic year draws to an end, KS3 scientists celebrated by enjoy a week of fun, messy and tasty science experiments.
It is the highlight of the year and students enjoy seeing how science is always around us.
Year 7 used their Reactions knowledge to create exploding volcanoes. They also created ooblek, a non-Newtonian substance that has both liquid and solid properties.
Year 8 were happy to explore Thermal Energy Transfers in the form of a mini spa. They applied their knowledge of heat transfer and learnt a mini hand massage to treat their mums with during the summer holidays.
Year 9 continued cell biology with a delicious twist… they demonstrated the organelles within and animal cell using a sweet and jelly model!
There were many more experiments throughout the week… all were messy and all were fun.
A huge well done to the AASSG KS3 Super Scientists for working so hard throughout the year. MA
