Once again, AASSG participated in the annual 10X Challenge, a national competition for young people aged from 11 – 19 years. The Challenge is free and run by Young Enterprise, the UK’s leading enterprise and financial education charity, that helps young people to develop the skills they need for life and work.
Taking part in the 10X Challenge helps our students to develop employability skills and experience alongside an important insight into how core curriculum learning will serve them well in this fast-changing world of work to understand the world they live in and begin to help them develop the skills they need in life and work to help them prepare for their future.
Students are pledged £10 and use this start-up capital to get their enterprise off the ground. They have 4 weeks to set up their business – coming up with an idea of a product or service they can sell and gain first-hand experience of what it’s like to be an entrepreneur.
Alhamdulillah, we are incredibly proud to announce that Ruqayya Begum (Y10) took first position nationally for the 15+ Best Overall Business category, specialising in selling handcrafted jewellery dishes and customisable jewellery with packaging from 100% recyclable materials . In addition, Yusairah Patel (Y10) won the National Sales Poster competition for her innovative design.
School winners by profit: 1st place: Nadia Al-Masri, Tunajjina Yasmin and Amira Al-Khalid (£160.50 profit). Runner-up: Ruqayya Begum (£125.50 profit).
Masha'Allah, huge congratulations to our pupils.
